An upcoming connection
In development: the local MCP adapter exists in Peel Pro’s development builds. Agent handoffs are not part of the current public Host 1.2 download, and support for individual agent apps will be listed when it is available.
Local Mac agents and utilities are planned to stay free in Peel Pro 2.0. Pro will add remote agent coordination, automation, control, and notifications on connected clients, along with extra streaming windows. Your agent provider’s subscriptions and usage charges remain separate. See the planned free and paid features.
Local MCP, with the Mac as the source
A compatible agent application on your Mac starts Peel Pro’s Python adapter using MCP over standard input and output. That adapter talks to the running desktop app through a local Unix socket. It is not a hosted web endpoint you can paste into any cloud or mobile chat client.
The source is the Mac running the desktop app. The receiving device is the paired receiving app. The agent can request an appropriate Mac view; Peel Pro presents that view on the receiving device when the required permissions and connection are in place.
How the planned setup will work
Agent connections are being developed for Peel Pro 2.0. There is no public agent-enabled download yet. Supported clients, exact requirements, and setup instructions will be published with the release.
- Pair your Mac with the receiving Peel Pro device using compatible releases.
- Choose a supported local agent on the Mac and explicitly allow it to connect to Peel Pro.
- Allow window presentation on the receiving device, then choose the Mac window you want to bring into view.
The design keeps pairing, agent access, and window presentation as separate choices. Notifications will require their own permission. You can use the current Mac and Vision Pro apps without an agent.
A narrow set of useful actions
The development tools can discover connected devices, list available windows and applications, launch an application from the current advertised list, request presentation of a listed window or desktop, and send a permitted notification.
A launch request and a presentation request are distinct: opening an application on the Mac does not itself show it on your receiving device. After launch, the agent needs a current window list and the matching presentation request.
A successful request means the receiving app agreed to open the view. If the content does not appear, check the receiving device before continuing. An accepted notification likewise does not mean someone has read it.
What this does not promise
The current adapter is not a general terminal, screenshot reader, arbitrary file reader, or unrestricted desktop-control service. Contextual shell access and broader machine actions remain in development. A provider’s local desktop or CLI support does not imply support in its mobile app or cloud service.
Tool results may include device names, application names, and window titles. Your agent provider’s handling of those results is separate from Peel Pro’s screen-streaming path. Read permissions and privacy, and use a sanitized project when trying a new connection.
If you are looking for software you can install now, get the current Mac and Vision Pro release. Its setup does not require an agent.
