Trust & permissions

Know what you are allowing.

Peel Pro needs access to the Mac you want to reach. The purpose of each permission should be clear, along with the boundaries of the current release.

The current screen-streaming model

The public Peel Pro release connects a Mac running Host to Apple Vision Pro on the same unrestricted local network. The Mac captures the selected content and sends the view to the paired device.

According to the published privacy policy, Peel Pro screen content is processed on your devices for live streaming, and Zephyr Studios does not receive or store that screen content on its servers. The policy says Peel Pro does not use Zephyr Studios cloud servers for screen streaming.

That is a statement about the screen-media path. It should not be read as a guarantee that every website interaction or future third-party agent request remains on your devices.

Why Host asks for permissions

  • Local Network lets Peel Pro discover and connect to nearby devices.
  • Screen Recording lets Host capture the Mac content that appears on the client.
  • Accessibility supports control of the Mac app from the paired client.

Pair only with devices you recognize, keep pairing codes private, and grant Mac permissions to the Peel Host app you intended to install for the current release. Review access in your system settings if your use of Peel Pro changes. Permission to capture does not guarantee that an application permits every kind of content to be shown.

Upcoming agents have a separate boundary

Planned for Peel Pro 2.0: local MCP tools and the broader agent workflow are still in development. They are not included in the current public Host download.

The development connection uses a Python adapter launched by a compatible agent app on the Mac. The desktop app has a separate opt-in for local agents. A receiving client also needs to allow AI window opening; notifications have their own permission.

Tool responses can describe devices, applications, and window titles. A third-party agent may process that information according to its own terms. Keep private material out of a demonstration, and understand the agent you choose. Peel Pro’s local streaming policy is not a privacy policy for that provider.

Read the mechanism and current limits before treating an integration as supported. The final privacy and account details for new paid features will need to match the released product.

The website is a separate service

The published website policy includes analytics, including Firebase Analytics. Visiting the website, submitting a support request, downloading an app, and using an external agent are different activities from streaming a Mac window.

When contacting support, send the smallest useful amount of information: versions, the failing step, and a sanitized screenshot if necessary. Do not include pairing codes, passwords, account tokens, or private source files.

Make access intentional

Keep the Host and client up to date, choose the intended Mac when pairing, and stop using a connection you do not recognize. Use the setup guide when troubleshooting so you can check one permission or connection issue at a time.
