Xcode runs on the source Mac
Peel Pro does not install a native version of Xcode on an iPad, iPhone, or Vision Pro. The Mac owns the project, build tools, Simulator, and files. The client receives the Mac view and sends supported input back to that application.
Available today: the public Peel Pro client runs on Apple Vision Pro. iPad and iPhone access is in development. There is no public iPad Peel Pro download linked from this site yet.
Set up the current workflow
- Install and run Xcode on a Mac that meets Xcode’s own requirements.
- Set up Host and pair Apple Vision Pro using the current compatible Peel Pro releases.
- Open a project in Xcode on the Mac. Start with a sample project when checking your connection.
- Select the available Xcode window in Peel Pro. Open the Simulator on the Mac if that is the view you need, then select its available window.
- Try a simple selection or text input before relying on a longer editing session.
Peel Pro supports application-window and display access. Select the view that best fits your task, keeping in mind that capture and input compatibility vary by application. This guide does not claim every Xcode dialog, Simulator gesture, or keyboard shortcut has been tested.
Choose the view around the task
An individual app window can keep the relevant work close without bringing the rest of the desktop with it. A display view may be more useful when a task involves several windows or a dialog outside the selected app window.
If a view is blank, check Host’s Screen Recording permission and test another window. If you can see content but cannot control it, check Accessibility permission and test a simple action. Keep the Mac running; the remote view does not move the build onto the receiving device.
Build time still depends on the Mac and project. Streaming responsiveness depends on the devices, application, and network. Peel Pro does not promise a particular frame rate or latency for this workflow.
Side-by-side development on mobile
The upcoming iPhone and iPad clients are being built for Mac workflows on another screen. With Pro, keep Xcode beside the Simulator, or a terminal beside the app you’re working on. The planned free tier includes one total app or display stream on these devices. Applications, files, and builds stay on your Mac.
In development: this mobile workspace is planned for Peel Pro 2.0 and is not included in the current public downloads. Final device support and release availability will be confirmed with the mobile release.
The planned agent handoff
Peel Pro 2.0 is being developed so a compatible local agent can bring a relevant Mac window to your paired Peel Pro device. The idea is to keep the agent interface you already use and make the application available when you need to inspect or interact with it.
Agent window presentation uses the planned local MCP connection. Contextual shell access is also in development. Neither is part of the current public Host download. For the mobile roadmap, see Mac apps on iPad.
